April 4: Three original plays staged by Hood Theatre

Thursday, April 4, 2013

FREDERICK, Md.—Three new plays written and directed by Hood College students, an alumna and a professor will be performed April 18-20 and 25-27 at 8 p.m.

The plays will be staged in Hood's Avalon Performing Arts Studio in the Tatem Arts Center. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the door beginning 30 minutes before each show. Admission is $10; students and Hood faculty and staff tickets are $5; and Hood students are free.

The three pieces that comprise The Swamp Plays take place on a dock with a shack by a swamp, and each holds elements of comedy and drama. If You Think You’re Having a Hallucination was written by 2012 Hood alumna Courtney MacLaughlin and directed by junior Cassie Schaeffer; Footprints of the Wind was written by senior Matt Kline and directed by MacLaughlin; and Swamp Moccasin was written by Joe Brady, assistant professor of theater and director of the theater program, and directed by senior Giovanni Kavota.
