May 19: Hood names vice president for enrollment management

FREDERICK, Md.—An expert in recruitment strategies with extensive experience in admission and financial aid has been named Hood College’s vice president for enrollment management.

William J. Brown brings more than three decades of higher education experience to Hood. Most recently, he was the vice president for enrollment management at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. He also served in several positions in admission and financial aid from 1980 to 2014 at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., including vice president of enrollment, dean of admission and financial aid, director of admission and director of financial aid and associate dean of admission.

Hood selected Brown from a pool of 45 candidates from colleges and universities across the country. He will start July 1.

Brown earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Lebanon Valley College and his master of business administration degree from Philadelphia University. He also completed a management development program at Harvard University.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania, Eastern and National Associations of Student Financial Aid Administrators; the Pennsylvania and National Associations for College Admission Counseling; and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.
