FREDERICK, Md.—Life lessons learned through participation in sports and how attitudes can affect personal success is the topic of a talk by a nationally known motivational speaker, master storyteller and author Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center at Hood College.
Julie Gaver, of Myersville, Md., is known for her high-energy presentation style. For the past 20 years she has used a blend of experience, humor and theatrics to bring her message to thousands of individuals and an array of corporations, including some of the most prestigious and successful firms in the country. Her training organization, Julie Gaver Training & Development, LLC, helps to create work environments that foster higher levels of attitude, morale, productivity, teamwork and creative thinking.
Gaver is the author of "Must Love Shoes," vignettes that illustrate the ties that bind women together in friendship and offer insights into the shared challenges of everyday life, and the sequel, "Must Love Shoes 2: The Adventure Continues."
She serves as the past board president of Leadership Washington County, and on the boards of Cocktails for a Cause of Maryland, which sponsors events to benefit nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of women and children, and Women to Women Mentoring, which provides mentors to women ages 18-35.
