FREDERICK, Md.—A concert of solo piano pieces and chamber music with piano is scheduled for March 29 at 3 p.m. in Brodbeck Music Hall at Hood College.
Laine Beachley, who teaches piano in the preparatory music division at Hood, will perform a program of works by Bach, Handel, Brandon, Poulenc and Granados. She will be joined by oboist Kirstin Myers, who teaches at Millersville University and York College and is a member of the York Symphony; and bassoonist Robin Plant, who plays principal oboe with the Lancaster Symphony and the Pennsylvania Regional Ballet Company.
Beachley graduated from Hood with a bachelor of arts degree in art and music. She has pursued graduate work at Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. She maintains a private piano studio in York, Pa., where she also teaches at Menchey Music and York College; performs in local music clubs and theaters; participates as a judge in local and regional festival; and works as a church musician.
