FREDERICK, Md.—Representatives from more than 30 local nonprofit and service organizations will be at Hood College Sept. 1 to recruit volunteers and acquaint students, faculty, staff and Frederick community members with services offered by their organizations.
The annual event, called the Community Service Fair, is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center Commons. There will be a free forum for local community members, as well as students, faculty and staff to meet with organization representatives to learn about volunteer and internship opportunities and services available in the Frederick area.
Local organizations that focus on diverse issues such as therapeutic services, animal welfare, health care education and services, arts and entertainment, historic preservation, mental health crisis services, disability services, literacy and food and housing for the disadvantaged will be among those on hand to discuss their programs.
This event is free and open to the public. For a complete list of organizations participating in this event, visit Hood’s website at www.hood.edu/volunteer or contact Hood’s career center at 301-696-3583 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
