FREDERICK, Md.— The 69th annual performance of “Messiah” at Hood College welcomes in the holiday season this Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. in Coffman Chapel.
The program will include selections from Handel’s “Messiah,” “Glow” by Eric Whitacre and a Carol Sing-A-Long for the audience. Faculty soloists Lisa Duva-Dodson and Antony Zwerdling will be joined by tenor Christian Hoff from the United States Army Chorus. The Choir Alumni from 2008-16 will join this year’s Hood Choir to perform much beloved choruses, as well as a new work from world renowned composer, Eric Whitacre. The soloists and choir will be accompanied by a full orchestra under Lynn Staininger’s direction.
This event is open to the public. Admission for Hood students, faculty and staff is free. General admission tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for non-Hood students and senior citizens ages 62 and older.
