Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Albaugh’s training includes expertise in entomology, agriculture, freshwater and marine biology and aquaculture. His research interests involve the influence of agricultural herbicides on the reproductive potential of soil fauna. He has assisted students at the undergraduate and graduate levels with many research projects. Some recent projects include brittle star predation research on San Salvador Island, Bahamas; the impact of invasive crayfish species in central Maryland; and the effects of increasing residential and commercial development on water quality and biological diversity in small streams surrounding Frederick City. Presently, he is attempting to construct an insect teaching collection for use in undergraduate and graduate entomology courses at Hood College.
