Biography

Elaine Wright began pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Music at University of Iowa, Iowa City, where she studied with Kenneth Amada. She completed her degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, as a student of Russian-born Misha Kottler. Throughout her life she has been involved in performing as an accompanist and chamber musician as well as soloist in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states. She attended Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, where she completed her Masters Degree in Music with a concentration in Piano Pedagogy in 2009. During her studies there, she participated in many master classes given by internationally acclaimed Irish pianist, John O’Conor. In addition to teaching piano at Hood College, Elaine Wright teaches at Shenandoah University, Shenandoah Arts Academy, and in her private studio at home.
