How are you? My name is Michael Deegan and I am the associate director of admission. I have one of the best jobs in the world—I have the opportunity to help students discover why Hood is such a great place. I work with students from Montgomery County, Md., Central and Western Pennsylvania as well as students from Ohio, Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas and all international students. As you move through the college search process I look forward to learning more about you and helping you become more familiar with Hood College during a campus visit, a college fair or visit to your high school or through e-mail correspondence.

I am originally from Houston, Texas, but have lived in 12 states. Frederick is one of my favorite places because it offers the best of all worlds: big city opportunities with a small town feel. One of my favorite places in Frederick is a local restaurant called Beef O'Brady's because they have great chicken wings—my favorite food. I currently live in Walkersville, a small suburb of Frederick, with my wife and two sons. I keep busy outside the office by playing softball, coaching baseball and assisting with my sons' Cub Scout pack.
