Joe Brady
Joe is a director, actor, writer, and comedian formerly based in New York City, newly relocated
to Baltimore. He holds an MFA in Directing from CUNY and is a graduate of Second
City, Chicago. Joe served as Artistic Director of Mother Lode Productions, Baltimore, where he
won Best Director awards for The Mysteries, What’s So Funny?, Waiting for Lefty, and Kafka
Dances. As a writer, Joe has had his works developed and produced in Baltimore, Chicago, and
New York. His short play The Vestibule took top honors at The Sketchbook One Play Festival in
Chicago, 2001 and the same year, Bow Down was produced at La Mama, New York. As a
performer in Chicago, Joe won a Del Award for Best Show for The Placebo Effect. He has
taught acting and improvisation at Brooklyn College and Hunter College in NYC. Joe is
currently an Artisic Associate with the Baltimore Shakespeare Festival and has completed a new
screenplay, Verrazano Narrows. Acting credits also include a Tragedian in R&G Are Dead at
Centerstage in 2009. Directing credits also include Taming of the Shrew in 2008 and Comedy of
Errors in 2010. Joe became an Equity actor this spring playing Guildenstern in R&G Are Dead
at the BSF and will direct The SantaLand Diaries this December at Rep Stage in D.C.
