It is possible for students to create their own productions. For
her senior project, alumnae Mal Lamont produced and directed The Actor’s Nightmare, by Christopher
Durang and directed Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, by Charles Busch. Courtney
McLaughlin wrote, produced and directed her one-act play Lost in Paradise in fall 2011. Innovative
students have also built upon Hood College Theatre in different ways: Amanda Roberts has created the Hood Improv
Troupe and Billy Lewis and Ashley Birdsell founded Hood College Student Musical Theatre in the fall of
2011.
This semester Courtney McLaughlin plans on staging a reading of her full length play Dinner
Theatre the first weekend in March and re-staging Lost in Paradise in May.
