Rev. O'Malley serves as pastor and counselor for the Hood College community, developing and implementing creative programming that enriches the religious, spiritual and intellectual lives of its students.
Before accepting the position at Hood, O'Malley served as a co-pastor at the Colombia United Christian Church, in Columbia, Md., where she coordinated interfaith community services, educational opportunities, youth forums and concerts, and offered pastoral care and counseling. She also served her congregation as the senior pastor and associate pastor for children and youth.
O'Malley also led a YMCA-based interdenominational Christian campus ministry that served three diverse urban colleges-Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University and Cuyahoga Community College-where she provided joint educational programs, pastoral counseling and student-centered service projects.
The Milford, Conn., native earned a bachelor's degree in religion and English from Hiram College and a master of divinity degree from Yale Divinity School. She has been active in several denominational organizations, including the Chesapeake Association Church and Ministry Commission, where she served as that organization's chair and secretary, and has volunteered in a pastoral capacity for numerous community organizations
