Brandon McCartney is the area coordinator for Memorial Hall and first-year initiatives. He received his bachelor's degree in Spanish from Valparaiso University and master's degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. As an undergraduate, Brandon served as a resident assistant for two and a half years and studied abroad in Zaragoza, Spain. Both of these experiences were influential in his decision to pursue a career in higher education and student affairs. In graduate school, Brandon served as the program assistant for the Honors College, where he planned day and overnight educational trips, advised music and journalism students, and sent out the College's weekly newsletter. Brandon is passionate about helping students learn, grow, and develop through their co-curricular educational experiences at Hood College.
