Medical insurance

Beginning with the fall 2014 semester, Hood College will no longer sponsor a student health insurance plan. Health insurance waiver forms are not required nor will a student’s account be charged for health insurance.

Domestic students can obtain health insurance through the health care exchanges established pursuant to the Affordable Care Act. Information on the Maryland Health Insurance Exchange can be found at http://insurance.healthcare.com.

As required by law, all full-time international students must have adequate medical insurance coverage, either through an overseas student insurance plan or other international student insurance plan. Information on some options available can be obtained from the accounting office or the office of multicultural affairs and international student programs. Proof of coverage must be provided by Aug. 15.
