Phone questions

My office does not have a phone.

Contact the Helpdesk at "helpdesk@hood.edu" or ext. 3622.

My phone does not work. What do I do?

Try unplugging the phone cord that goes from the phone to the wall at the phone end. When you re-plug the phone in, watch for the lights to flash. If the lights flash, the phones should return to operation. If the lights do not flash, call STC by dialing HELP or ext. 4357.

How do I access my phone mail from another phone on campus?

Dial ext. 3444 which will take you to the phone mail system. Listen for directions on how to access your specific phone mail. For more in-depth answers go to accessing phone mail.

Network questions

My drop is not working. Who do I contact?

First, look for a flashing light on your NIC card located in the back of your desktop computer or on the side of your laptop. If there is no light, contact the Helpdesk at "helpdesk@hood.edu" or ext. 3622.

There is more than one computer in my room. How do we connect both of them to the network?

You will need a hub. EUC provides hubs to offices with a need for more than one computer. Go to the Helpdesk, on the fourth floor of Alumni Hall, to sign out a hub.

I can not get to an Internet site.

First, try another Internet site. If it works, then periodically go back to the site you were trying to access until it comes back up. If you cannot reach any other sites, then look for a flashing light on the NIC card located in the back of your desktop computer or on the side of your laptop. If there is no light, contact the Helpdesk at "helpdesk@hood.edu" or ext. 3622.
