iPad Distribution & Loaner Policy

For Students:

Type of Recipient   Given an iPad‌   Agreement/Conditions   Loaned an iPad‌   Terms  

First Year full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student

Yes

Must complete one semester in good financial standing; otherwise return iPad in good working order. If lost, stolen, or damaged, student repairs / replaces. Failure to comply with terms results in an Accounting hold.
 

Yes.

If iPad has been lost, sold or stolen: 10 day loan.

If broken (proof required): 30 day loan.
 
All loans are contingent upon requirement by a class professor.

Hood will offer Apple Depot repair service that can arrange for factory repair upon payment by the student.

If Hood loaner is lost, stolen, or damaged, student will not get a second loaner and must replace the unit. Failure to comply with terms results in an Accounting hold.

Transfer undergraduate degree seeking students (into any year)

Yes

Must take 6.5 or more credit hours; completion of one semester is not required, however must be in good financial standing. If lost, stolen, or damaged, student repairs / replaces.

 

Undergraduate degree seeking part-time student (in any year) taking fewer than 6.5 credit hours
 

No

If the student subsequently matriculates at greater than 6.5 credit hours, then becomes eligible.

Yes, if iPad required by a class professor.

Department manager and Vice President of that division must first approve. Department will pay for the iPads, which IT will purchase. Must be associated to MDM. If lost, stolen, or damaged, department pays for repairs / replacement, which IT coordinates.
 

Yes, in special cases, such as disability, etc. Must be approved by IT CTO.

Depends on issue; one semester maximum. If lost, stolen, or damaged, IT repairs / replaces.


Sale of iPads
