Graduation Year: 2014

Major: Law and Society

Home Town: Odenton, Md.

High School: Arundel Senior High School

Why did you choose Hood College?

I chose Hood because my older sister, Abby, had already been at Hood for three years before I came. I knew a lot about Hood and liked its small community and the friendly feeling you get everywhere.

Have you participated in an internship or leadership opportunity in the local area or on campus?

I have participated in SAAC, CAB, SPURS, summer and fall orientation and freshmen and sophomore SGA. I am also a member of the cross country and track teams.

What did you gain from that experience?

I learned numerous things about leading. I have led many students my age, older and younger. I also learned how to be a part of a group and to be accepting of others' ideas.

What is your most memorable experience at Hood?

My most memorable experience at Hood was being able to be a part of the orientation team for this past year for the class of 2015. I remember most the dinking ceremony, how I got to officially welcome my group of first-year students to the Hood community.

What do you value most about your relationships with your professors?

I value most how well I am able to relate to and get to know my professors. I enjoy being able to talk to my professors at nearly any time.

What is something that surprised you about Hood?

I was most surprised about how well the professors and administrators know the student body. Most of club advisers and professors know all of the students on a close, personal level.

What was your most rewarding class or academic experience at Hood? Why?

My most rewarding academic experience was when I took English 101. I thought going into the class I already knew how to write a good essay but after taking the course I learned so much more than I expected. This has helped me tremendously in all of my classes.

When you aren't in class, what is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

My favorite thing to do in my spare time is just to relax. Being a part of five different organizations, studying for classes along with participating in athletics keeps my schedule very busy. So when I finally have free time, I enjoy just doing nothing!

What is your favorite campus event?

I really enjoy going to Messiah Ball. It's a great way to catch up with friends and see others before winter break. I like how half of the venue is a casino and half is for dancing.
