I enjoy the close-knit community made possible by the small student body, as well as its campus and proximity to many post-college opportunities. Have you participated in an internship or leadership opportunity in the local area or on campus? Yes, I am in a leadership group called the Trail Blazers as well as various other clubs and organizations. What did you gain from that experience? I was able to increase my networking, which in turn allowed me to meet more people and gain great experiences from all of them. What is your most memorable experience at Hood? Hiking through Cunningham Falls with fellow Trail Blazers. What do you value most about your relationships with your professors? Hood's small size ensures personal relationships with each professor, allowing for easy communication with professors. What is something that surprised you about Hood? The number of connections Hood has. For its size, the career center has information on an huge number of opportunities to fit any passion for any student. What was your most rewarding class or academic experience at Hood? Why? My most rewarding class experience at Hood would have to be my current psychology class. This is the furthest I have gone into my major, and the fact that the class is so in depth is exciting to me; I know that I am that much closer to receiving my degree. When you aren't in class, what is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? As Forbes magazine has mentioned, downtown Frederick is one of the nicest neighborhoods or communities in the United States. I enjoy going on runs around Baker Park and downtown Frederick. What is your favorite campus event? I enjoy May Madness the most; this weekend of fun is essential to ensuring a stress-free exam week. |
