Why did you choose Hood College?

It is a great place to be smart as the slogan says, and I strongly believed in that while I was making the decision. Fantastic campus, highly professional faculty and staff, athletics and education. Moreover, a great opportunity to be close to Washington, D.C., and live close to downtown Frederick.

Have you participated in an internship or leadership opportunity in the local area or on campus?

I have worked as a volunteer for the Rotaract Club. I will be one of the leaders in upcoming RYLA conference in Washington, D.C.

What did you gain from that experience?

I have met many significant people who work in the Frederick area. I have become more confident while representing my school and myself. I have learned how to behave in particular situations, how to work under the pressure and the most importantly, I have learned how to be helpful to other people at Hood and in the community.

What is your most memorable experience at Hood?

The most memorable experience at Hood was my first volleyball season. Joining the team lifted me to a completely new level of college life. I can say that the team, my coaches and my teammates made me feel more confident about myself, helped me improve as a player and taught me many things about American culture. Not only that, being a part of Hood volleyball allows me be involved not just at Hood but also helps me see and meet different people from other schools and states.

What do you value most about your relationships with your professors?

I value the fact that my professor not only provide me with outstanding lectures and education, but also are available to help me at any time of the day and provide me with advice, just like my own parents would do, which makes me feeling important at this school and not just another student in the classroom.

What is something that surprised you about Hood?

The variety of people. Hood is a small school and I did not expect that I would go to school with so many students from other states and countries.

What was your most rewarding class or academic experience at Hood? Why?

All-Academic Award from the Capital Athletic Conference for being an athlete with an outstanding GPA.

When you aren't in class, what is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

Other than playing volleyball, I love to go to the new athletic center and exercise, or to the pool, where I usually go with my friends. Besides physical activity, I love to play piano in my dorm. If not that, then my friends and I will go to events organized by CAB or downtown Frederick.

What is your favorite campus event?

My favorite campus event is May Madness.
