Painting, sculpture and architecture in Italy, especially Tuscany, from the early 13th century
until the late 15th century. Topics include civic, religious and private patronage; the changing
status of the artist, and humanism and the arts. Field trips to the Walters Art Gallery and the
National Gallery of Art.
