The study of dyslexia and reading disability, the reading process and the unique needs
of students with learning/language difficulties. Phonological awareness, the principles of
multisensory instruction through the Alphabetic Phonics system and current research in the
field of reading will be primary focuses. Integration of explicit phonics into language arts
instruction will be explored.
