Prerequisites: MATH 501 or equivalent and current teaching certification. (First semester—odd
years/3 credits)

This course examines current research and accepted practices in teaching geometry in the
secondary school, based on national and state standards. The focus is on problem solving and
mathematical reasoning, communication, and integrating geometry with other disciplines.
Students will learn to use appropriate instructional materials, including technology, to support
the teaching and learning of geometry.
