A close analysis of the art of Jane Austen, emphasizing the resources of her language and her
powers of social perception. Reading will include Austen’s six completed novels: “Sense and
Sensibility,” “Pride and Prejudice,” “Mansfield Park,” “Emma,” “Northanger Abbey” and
“Persuasion.”
