Prerequisite: Completion of or concurrent enrollment in ENV 501 or permission of instructor. (3 credits)
A study of the sources, fates and biological effects of a wide variety of environmental
pollutants. Topics covered include: air, water and soil pollution; techniques for monitoring and
evaluating pollution effects; and pollution control technologies.
Case studies will be employed to illustrate the social, economic, and political issues
surrounding many pollution problems.
