Prerequisites: ENV 501, ENV 502 and ENV 505. (3 credits)
Introduces the concepts and computational techniques of quantitative risk assessment for
environmental health and ecological risk hazards. Hazard identification, dose-response
modeling, exposure assessment and risk characterization techniques will be considered.
Perception of risk and the influence of perception on human behavior will be discussed. The
use of risk assessment in environmental policy development will be considered in the context
of recent and classic case studies.
