Prerequisite: ENV 502 or permission of the instructor. (1 credit)
An introduction to the classification and identification of algae including freshwater, estuarine
and marine phytoplankton and macroalgae. The identification of algae will be considered
within the context of environmental functions and human significance. Class field trips provide an opportunity for students to relate algal diversity to habitat.
