Prerequisites: ENV 501, 502 and 503, or permission of the instructor. (3 credits)
Introduction to the principles of pharmacology and pathology that apply to mammalian
toxicology. Emphasis will be on basic concepts of toxin/drug response, uptake, distribution and
metabolism in mammalian systems. Other major environmental topics to be considered are
pathology, mutagenesis, carcinogenesis, teratogenicity and pharmacogenetics.
