Humanities Seminars are research-based courses. The goal of each seminar is to provide
students with the opportunity to design and carry out original research, constructing their own
substantive interpretation and argument according to accepted professional standards. Students
work on their own research papers and present them in formats appropriate to the seminar’s
method and topic. Course topics vary according to discipline and specialization of faculty.
