A study of a variety of materials and techniques suitable for the enrichment of clay and glaze
surfaces, including decoration in the forming process, carved, impressed and added decoration,
and various methods of using slips, underglaze and overglaze colors. This course is an in-
depth, experiential study of the essential quality and appropriateness to the form and firing
process, ceramic technology and three dimensional design concepts that evoke appropriate
decorative treatments for works in clay.
