The brushmaking techniques taught in this course have been adapted from traditional methods
used by Japanese potters to take advantage of glues, threads, hair, fibers and other materials
that are currently available. While these brushes were originally developed for use in ceramic
decoration, they may also be used in a variety of painting applications such as watercolor and
tempera.
