Prerequisite: Completion of 18 credits of coursework in the BMS program with a “B” average, or permission of the instructor. (First semester/3 credits)
A review of current literature in selected areas of molecular and cellular biology, immunology
and microbiology. Students will make oral presentations of the data from published research.
In addition, students will choose a specific research problem to address in a grant proposal-like
paper. The scientific merit of the proposal will be defended before a faculty reading committee.
This course is graded on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis.
