Praxis Series

The Praxis Seriese (standardized tests leading to teacher certification) will no longer be administered at Hood.

Praxis I consists of 3 one hour tests - Reading, Math, and Writing.
Paper-based Praxis I testing will be offered at a limited number of test sites on the following dates: Nov. 17, 2007; Jan. 12, 2008; March 15, 2008; Apr. 26, 2008; June 14, 2008; and July 26, 2008. See the Praxis Web site for testing locations and online registration. Registration bulletins can be found in the bookcase outside the Registrar's Office. Registration deadlines are generally 5 weeks prior to the test date.
The computer-based Praxis I can be taken at Sylvan Learning Centers, which are located throughout the country. Call 1-800-853-6773, see the Praxis Web site or call the test center directly to make a testing appointment.
