Art and Archaeology
The Department of Art and Archaeology offers a range of studio, art history and archaeology courses that prepare the student for graduate study or for a career in various professions and crafts. In addition to the bachelor's degree in art, with concentrations in art history, archaeology and studio art, the department also offers minors in art history, archaeology and studio art, as well as a graduate certificate program in ceramics.
The Department of Art and Archaeology is closely linked to the Frederick community and to cultural centers in Washington, D.C., Baltimore and New York.
Invitational art exhibits are held throughout the year in Hood's Hodson Art
Gallery, bringing to campus professional work from a variety of artists.
