Check this site on a regular basis for updates; you will not want to miss the information we add each month!
An Orientation Resource Notebook will be sent to all new Hood students which will contain everything you need to become familiar with Hood.
Transfer and Adult Advising
As soon as you submit your deposit or Acceptance Confirmation Form, the Registrar will complete your official Transfer Evaluation and your advising folder will be forwarded to the admissions office. You will be contacted shortly thereafter to arrange for a time to meet either face to face, or via phone. During this meeting, you will discuss your Transfer Evaluation, career goals, areas of interest, and develop a course schedule for the Spring Semester. You will take your completed schedule to the Registrar's Office where they will input your schedule and print a confirmed course schedule for you. (This is the only time that you will not register online.)
This process usually takes place within two weeks after you submit your deposit or Acceptance Confirmation Form. If you have questions, or have not yet been contacted for an advising appointment, call the Admission's Office at (301) 696-3400.
Freshman Advising
The first step in your advising process is to complete your Placement Tests at www.hood.edu/placement.Once you have completed your placement tests, you will be contacted to set up your Spring Course Schedule. There will be an opportunity to meet with your Freshman/Sophomore Academic Advisor when you arrive on campus in January.
