Congratulations on being admitted to Hood College!

New Students for the Fall 2017 Semester:

Next steps to enrollment 

First-year students

  1. Let us know you'd like to attend our Admitted Students' Day on Saturday, April 8! Register online here or call 301-696-3400 and we'll save you a spot!

  2. Submit enrollment deposit to secure a place in the first-year class and residence halls (if you want to live on campus)

    Note: The online deposit website only supports newer, more secure web browsers. If you have an older browser, you may not be able to access the online deposit website. If you have any problems accessing the online deposit website, or if you would like to make your deposit by phone, please contact the Office of Admission at 301-696-3400.   3. Set up your Hood College email account. You will receive a letter with instructions within a week of submitting your deposit  You must complete this set-up as all future email communication will be sent to this email address and the login info will grant you access to all future Hood College logins.

  4. You will be asked to complete your first-year registration questionnaire. This questionnaire will be sent to your Hood College email account.

  5. You can begin to complete your Hood College placement exams as soon as you have finished your questionnaire. Learn more about placement exams here.

  6. You will be contacted by CAAR to discuss the results of your placement exams and to finalize your attendance at one of the following Summer Orientation Dates (previously selected on the first-year registration questionnaire):
    • Monday, June 12, 2017
    • Friday, June 16, 2017
    • Monday, June 26, 2017
     

  7. Submit official transcripts of final grades.

  8. Request that College Board send official score reports of any AP exams taken in high school to Hood.

  9. Attend Fall Orientation, held Aug. 17-21. 

  10. Classes start Monday, Aug. 21

Transfer Students

  2.  Submit enrollment deposit to secure a place in your class and residence halls (if you want to live on campus)   

  3. Set up your Hood College email account. You will receive a letter with instructions within a week of submitting your deposit  You must complete this set-up as all future email communication will be sent to this email address and the login info will grant you access to all future Hood College logins.

  4. Most advising appointments will take place on Fridays beginning on April 21, 2017. Information on registering for one of these Friday advising appointments or to make alternate arrangements will be emailed to enrolled students beginning in March 2017. If you have questions about this process, please email transfers@hood.edu.

  5. If indicated on your official credit evaluation, please take the appropriate Hood College placement exams.  Learn more and sign up for your exams here.

  6. Send final transcripts to the registrar's office.

  7. Transfer transition programming will be held on Friday, July 14, as well as Monday, August 7. Check back soon for register forms!
