Congratulations on being admitted to Hood College!

New Students for the Spring 2017 Semester:

Next steps to enrollment 

Transfer students

  1. Submit enrollment deposit to secure a place in your class and residence halls (if you wish to reside on campus)   

  2. Set up your Hood College email account.  You will receive a letter with instructions within a week of submitting your deposit  You must complete this set-up as all future email communication will be sent to this email address and the login info will grant you access to all future Hood College logins.
  3. Enrolled transfer students will be contacted by an Academic Advisor at their Hood College email address (see step 2 above) to arrange an on-campus advising and registration appointment for their Spring 2017 classes.  For questions about this process please call 301-696-3400 or email transfers@hood.edu

  4. If indicated on your official credit evaluation, please take the appropriate Hood College placement exams.  Learn more and sign up for your exams here.

  5. Send final transcripts to the registrar's office.

  6. Transfer transition programming will be held on Thursday, January 12 .  You will be contacted by our Orientation Team to arrange your attendance at this program or to make alternate arrangements.

First-year students

  1. Submit enrollment deposit to secure a place in the first-year class and residence halls (if the student wishes to reside on campus)

  2. Set up your Hood College email account.  You will receive a letter with instructions within a week of submitting your deposit  You must complete this set-up as all future email communication will be sent to this email address and the login info will grant you access to all future Hood College logins.

  3. Complete your first year registration questionnaire.  This questionnaire will be emailed to your Hood College email account, or can be accessed here.

  4. You will be contacted by CAAR after you complete the questionnaire and receive further instructions on taking your Hood College placement exams. We ask that you wait until you have been in contact with CAAR to take these exams. Learn more about placement exams here.

  5. You will be contacted by CAAR to discuss the results of your placement exams and to finalize your attendance at one of the following Summer Orientation Dates (previously selected on the first year registration questionnaire):
    1. Monday, June 12, 2017
    2. Friday, June 16, 2017
    3. Monday, June 26, 2017
     

  6. Submit official transcripts of final grades.

  7. Request College Board send official score reports of any AP exams taken in high school to Hood.

  8. Attend Fall Orientation, held Aug. 17-21. 

  9. Classes start Monday, Aug. 21

Transfer students

Most advising appointments will take place on Fridays beginning on April 21, 2017.  Information on registering for one of these Friday advising appointments or to make alternate arrangements will be emailed to enrolled students beginning in March 2017.  If you have questions about this process please email transfers@hood.edu

  6. Transfer transition programming will be held on Friday, July 14 as well as Monday, August 7.  Check back soon for register forms!
