| REAL WORLD CONNECTIONS: The Board of Associates' Career Center Advisory Council consists of dedicated alumnae, alumni and friends of the College who are business leaders in the community. The council provides input and real-world mentoring and advising services to Hood students, alumnae and alumni who use the Career Center. Holly, a dietitian for the Stamford, Connecticut school system, serves as the adviser for the high school nutrition club. JOIN US FOR HOMECOMING 2006, Feb. 13-18, 2006: The annual Homecoming Weekend is a celebration for Hood students, alumnae and alumni. Highlights of the week include a performance by a professional comedian, a coffeehouse with live music, men's and women's basketball games, a barbecue and block party, a health fair and the traditional Homecoming semi-formal. Student organizations will also host a tailgating party, which will provide an opportunity for current students to meet Hood alums. |

| ADULT WATERCOLOR CLASS BEING OFFERED: The College will be offering an adult class, Introduction to Watercolor, Tuesday, March 14-Tuesday, April 18 from 7-9 p.m. The six-class session is $140. Artist Marilyn Henry, who has 25 years of experience teaching watercolor painting classes and workshops in this region, will teach the class. HOOD JOINS CAPITAL ATHLETIC CONFERENCE: Hood athletic teams will join the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) next academic year. For the 2006-2007 season, seven of the men’s sports teams and one women’s sport team will compete in the CAC. Hood’s other eight women’s sports teams are committed to playing in the Atlantic Women’s Colleges Conference until the end of the 2006-2007 season. HOOD NAMES NEW ANNUAL GIVING DIRECTOR: A former Hood staff
member recently returned to the College as the newest member
to Hood’s institutional advancement team. Betsy Diehl, formerly
the assistant director of annual funds at Hood for a little
more than two years, returns to the College as director of

CERAMIC
ARTS PROGRAM WORKSHOPS:
The Hood College Ceramic Arts program announces their 2006 workshop,
lectures and visiting artists series. The February and March courses
will focus on surface finishes. Pete Pinnell (shown in photo to the left),
an international ceramic artist, a professor at University of Nebraska-Lincoln
and a technical expert in glazes, will visit in February and teach glazes,
slips and terra sig. Pete writes regularly in Clay Times on all aspects
of ceramic arts. Jackie Kierans will teach silk screen printing on clay
in March. In addition, Hood's community arts program has expanded to
include ceramic wheel and handbuilding. Click
MEN'S BASKETBALL WINS FIRST-EVER TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Hood men’s basketball team won its first-ever tournament championship
in the program’s three-year history when it edged New Jersey City
University 85-82 in the title game of the 28th Annual Moravian College
