The Blazer men are off to their first 2-0 start in Capital Athletic Conference action in Hood's four years in the league. Sophomore guard Brenden Straughn (above) notched his second career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds versus the University of Mary Washington. Senior forward J'Air Brady netted a season-high 20 points in the Blazers' road win at Salisbury University Wednesday. Hood and St. Vincent College will meet for the first time Friday at the Odom Fitness Center at Fort Detrick.

Senior forward Jen Willison moved into sixth place on the program's all-time rebounding list with 690, overtaking Rita Willis '06 on the career chart. Junior guard Allyson Lethbridge (above) climbed into 10th place all-time in scoring, now with 633 career points. Lethbridge paced the Blazers with a game-high 14 points against the University of Mary Washington, including 8-of-10 from the foul line, to go along with four steals and seven rebounds, both season-highs. The Blazer women will travel to Goucher College Wednesday in search of their first victory over the Gophers since 2004.

The men's squad set eight seasonal bests at the Randolph-Macon Invitational last weekend. Ethan Weidman (above) charted his fastest times of the year in the 200 individual medley (2:28.86) and the 100 free (58.80), while Thomas Williams turned in his top times in the 100 and 200 breast. Additionally, Kyle Atras and Andrew Bodine clocked season-bests in the 50 free. The swim team is idle until the New Year, when the Blazers journey to Salisbury University for a dual meet at Capital Athletic Conference foe Salisbury University Jan. 9.

Senior Jen Graham posted three season-best times at the two-day Randolph-Macon Invitational Friday and Saturday. She clocked her fastest times in the 500 free (7:37.46), the 200 free (2:51.84) and the 100 free (1:16.08) as the Blazers finished sixth at the invitational. Junior Kristen Kucharski (above) logged her best time of the winter in the 100 back (1:15.70) while Taryn Scafide and Ashley Haines also registered season bests in the 200 individual medley and the 50 free, respectively. The swim team is idle until the New Year, when the Blazers journey to Salisbury University for a dual meet at Capital Athletic Conference foe Salisbury University Jan. 9.
