Junior Reco Siler (above) matched his career-high with 18 points for the Blazers in a 63-58 Capital Athletic Conference setback to the Wesley College Wolverines Wednesday evening at Wentworth Gymnasium.
Siler was the star of the opening half, hitting a sizzling 8-of-9 from the field for 16 of Hood's 30 first-half points in his 18 minutes of work. Siler matched his career-high of 18 points set previously against St. Mary's College (Md.) in the Pride of Maryland Tournament back in November. He also pulled down a team-best nine rebounds, dished three assists and had a pair of steals. J'Air Brady finished with 15 points while Justin Stone came off the bench to contribute nine. Hood's home contest against Gallaudet University has been rescheduled for Tuesday at the Odom Fitness Center at Fort Detrick. Wednesday's doubleheader at the University of Mary Washington was also pushed back to Thursday.

Despite senior Jen Willison's 29th career double-double, and second in as many games, the Blazer women came up on the short end of a 79-41 Capital Athletic Conference decision to the Wesley College Wolverines Wednesday evening at Wentworth Gymnasium. Willison (above) paced the Blazers on both ends of the court, scoring 12 points and corralling 12 boards. Willison leapfrogged Melissa Kelly '00 for fifth on Hood's career scoring chart, now with 1,268 points. She also jumped past Mandy South '02 and into third all-time with 805 career rebounds. Dyanna Prater set season-highs in rebounds (9) and assists (6) and Stacey Jones notched a pair of season-highs with eight points and eight caroms. Additionally, Nalla Tejera scored the first point of her Blazer career when she made one of two from the foul line with 1:40 left in the first half. She also grabbed a season-high four rebounds and picked off her first career steal. Hood's home contest against Gallaudet University has been rescheduled for Tuesday at the Odom Fitness Center at Fort Detrick. Wednesday's doubleheader at the University of Mary Washington was also pushed back to Thursday.

The Blazers journey to southern Maryland Friday for the three-day Capital Athletic Conference Championships held at the ARC Arena on the campus of St. Mary's College (Md.).
Senior captain Chris Moreland (above) advanced to the consolation finals in three events at the 2009 CACs, earning top-16 times in the 200 and 400 individual medleys as well as the 200 breaststroke. First-year breaststroke specialist Andrew Bodine and backstroker/butterflyer Jonathan Moughty should contribute to the Blazer scoring as well.

Senior captain Erica Hamor (above) swam in a pair of consolation finals in 2009 in the 200 breaststroke and the 400 individual medley and owns Hood's top times of the season in 11 individual events. Junior Kristen Kucharski could be a factor in the sprints as well as the backstroke and butterfly events.
