Hood went 1-2 this week in three CAC games and remains in eighth place in the conference standings. Freshman Garrett Williams (above) notched a career-high 26 points, including five threes, in a narrow 76-74 overtime win at Marymount University Saturday. Hood rallied from a nine-point second half deficit and never trailed in the extra session to capture the win. Senior Jeff Willison matched his career-high with 18 points against Gallaudet Monday. Freshman Brenden Straughn also tied his career-high with seven assists versus the Bison. Hood will honor seniors Tim Abercrombie and Jeff Willison in addition to manager Clyde Moore before Wednesday's game against Wesley College.

Women's Basketball (4-18, 2-11 CAC)

Feb. 11 vs. Wesley College 6 p.m. (Senior Day)

Hood registered its second CAC win of the season Monday with a 69-56 victory over visiting Gallaudet University Monday. Junior Jen Willison led the way with 20 points as the Blazers completed the season sweep of the Bison. Senior Sara Wastler (above) knocked down her 100th three-point field goal, becoming only the third Hood women's basketball player to accomplish that feat. Senior Jessica Parrish was one assist away from a double-double, contributing 10 points and a career-high nine assists while sophomore Allyson Lethbridge finished with 16 points, six steals and four assists in the triumph. Willison is 22 points away from becoming the seventh women's basketball player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. Hood will honor seniors Jess Head, Jessica Parrish and Sara Wastler before Wednesday's game.

Freshman Chris Nemecek (above) and the Blazers travel to St. Mary's College (Md.) this weekend for the three-day 2009 Capital Athletic Conference championship. Hood finished seventh in the team competition at last year's conference meet.
