The Blazer men regained a share of first place in the standings with their most decisive win of the season Saturday over Stevenson University. The Blazers used a 27-point triumph to complete the season sweep over the Mustangs for the first time since joining the Capital Athletic Conference in 2006-07. Sophomore Tory Wilson was the team's top scorer in two games. Wilson led all scorers with a career-best 23 points Monday against Marymount, including the game-winning layup just before time expired. He then notched his fifth double-double of the season against No. 16 St. Mary's. Junior Tyler Snoots tallied his fourth double-double as a Blazer versus the Saints with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Senior J'Air Brady is currently eighth all-time at Hood in scoring with 575 points. Two Blazers scored the first points of their collegiate careers. Freshman Tyrell Wilson (above) tallied six points, including 4-for-4 from the foul line, while classmate Edward Thomas hit 1-of-2 from the stripe and grabbed four rebounds.

The Blazer women won their first CAC game of the season Saturday against Stevenson. Senior Jen Willison (above) led all scorers with 18 points as three Blazers reached double figures. Classmate Brianna Raithel had a solid all-around effort, compiling five points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. Willison grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds in a loss to St. Mary's College (Md.) and tied for game-high scoring honors with 16 points opposite No. 5 Marymount University. Willison is currently sixth all-time at Hood in scoring with 1,126 points and fourth in career rebounds with 768. Hood looks to snap a seven-game losing skid to the Salisbury University Sea Gulls Wednesday. The Blazers' last win versus Salisbury came on Dec. 9, 2003.

The Blazers won five individual events in a 108-89 Capital Athletic Conference loss to Gallaudet University Sunday afternoon.
Chris Moreland paced the field in both the 1000 free (11:47.39) and the 100 fly (1:00.48) and was second in the 200 free (1:57.58). Andrew Bodine was a double winner in the 100 back (1:05.95) and 100 breast (1:09.30) and swam a seasonal best in the 200 IM in 2:13.88 to finish second.
Matthew Benoit (above) won the 50 free (24.30) and placed second in the 100 free (55.83) and third in the 500 free (6:12.20). Hood's final dual meet before the CAC championship is slated for Saturday at Penn State Altoona.

Senior Erica Hamor and junior Kristen Kucharski were both double winners for the Blazers in a 92-82 Capital Athletic Conference setback to the Gallaudet University Bison Sunday afternoon.
Hamor took top honors in both the 1000 free (13:17.51) and the 100 breast (1:17.69) and placed second in the 200 IM (2:28.74). Kucharski won both the 50 free (28.56) and the 100 fly (1:13.87) and placed second in the 500 free (6:16.90).
Aleece Groom captured the 200 free (2:19.66) and was second in the 100 free (1:03.78). The 200 medley relay team of Taryn Scafide, Andrea Haines, Groom and Jen Graham (above) defeated the Bison squad by nearly 27 seconds in 2:24.47.
The Blazers travel to Penn State Altoona Saturday for a tri-meet with Juniata College at 1 p.m.
