Kris Miner, Troy Hubbard and Doug Hendricks (above) all scored for the Blazers in a 19-3 nonconference setback to Randolph-Macon College. Nick O'Brien tallied 10 saves and Hector Montoya won nine face-offs in defeat. Hood has a pair of road contests slated for this week against league foe Marymount University and nonconference rival Christopher Newport University.

Kelsey Blackwell registered her second five-goal performance of the season Monday against Hollins University. In all, nine different Blazers found the back of the net as Hood outshot Hollins, 40-4, and matched the program record for goals in a game with 21. Blackwell leads the team with 17 goals, matching her season total from her freshman year. Lauren Perzan (above) dished out three assists to boost her team-leading total to five. Hood entertains Trinity University Wednesday before traveling to the University of Mary Washington Saturday.

Jen Willison and Krista Zerby (above) belted homeruns for Hood in the Blazers' lone doubleheader last week against the Arcadia Knights Thursday. Willison blasted a grand slam to cap a five-run third inning in game one while Zerby's three-run shot accounted for all three Hood runs in the nightcap. On Monday the Blazers picked up their first doubleheader sweep over visiting Wells College. Hood scored a season-high 19 runs in the nightcap, highlighted by a 4-for-4, five-RBI performance from Willison. Hood hosts two more twinbills this week against Mt. Aloysius College Wednesday before opening Capital Athletic Conference play Saturday versus the University of Mary Washington.

Andrew Blowe (above), David Blowe, Carter Reitman and Mike Hardman all won singles matches against Gordon College in a 6-3 Hood victory Friday. Hood ended its trip to Hilton Head, S.C., with a record of 2-4 and looks to extend its two-match win streak Tuesday when it hosts Capital Athletic Conference rival Wesley College at 3 p.m. at the Baker Park Tennis Courts. Hood also travels to Stevenson Thursday for a CAC match.

Hood ended its spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., on a positive note, defeating Seton Hill College, 8-1. Hood captured five of the six singles matches and swept the doubles matches to earn the win. Freshman Jillian Elkaim (above) improved to 7-2 on the season at first singles. The Blazers entertain their first Capital Athletic Conference rival of the season Tuesday, hosting Wesley College at 3 p.m. at the Baker Park Tennis Courts.
