Sophomore Kris Miner registered his second hat trick of the season against Wesley College and added a single tally against the University of Mary Washington to bring his total on the season to 13, which ranks sixth on the program's single season chart. Freshman Hector Montoya (above) has won 93 face-offs, eclipsing the previous single-season mark of 73 set by Will Oconis '08 in 2007. Hood will look to end a seven-game losing skid Monday against Capital Athletic Conference foe York College (Pa.).

Hood dropped a pair of Capital Athletic Conference games last week. The nine goals recorded against nationally ranked St. Mary's are the most Hood has ever scored in four meetings with the Seahawks. Sophomore Kelsey Blackwell leads the team in scoring with 31 points on 23 goals and eight assists. Sarah Balukoff (above) tallied her first hat trick of the season against the Seahawks, finding the back of the net on all three of her shot attempts. Hood has a busy week ahead with three games on the docket including a home date with Waynesburg College Thursday.

Hood will look to put a stop to its six-game losing skid Tuesday when the Blazers travel to Columbia Union College for a nonleague doubleheader. Senior outfielder Ashley Lenhart leads the team in batting average (.314) through the first half of the season while junior first baseman Jen Willison is Hood's top run producer, driving in a team-high 12 runs on the spring. Hood hosts three doubleheaders later in the week and will honor its six seniors, Lenhart, Jamie Gardner, Jess Krietz, Jen Lacy (above), Katherine Law and Sara Wastler between Sunday's twinbill against Stevenson University.

Despite capturing three singles matches, Hood dropped a heartbreaker to McDaniel College Monday afternoon. Carter Reitman and David Blowe ousted their opponents in straight sets while Kenny Smith won at sixth singles by forfeit. Reitman and Garrett Loomer (above) also earned a forfeit win at second doubles. Reitman, who has won four of his last six singles matches, shows a record of 8-5 on the season to lead the team. Hood travels to a pair of nonleague rivals this week.

Hood extended its win streak to four with victories over McDaniel College and Stevenson University before falling to Salisbury University Sunday. Hood won five singles matches in straight sets and swept the doubles contests versus the Green Terror to start the week. Then Friday, the Blazers downed the Mustangs by earning four singles wins and capturing first and third doubles. Jillian Elkaim continued her impressive freshman season by defeating Tory Allinson, 6-0, 6-0, to improve to 10-2 on the season. Elkaim and Emily Schrodel (above) teamed up for the first time as a doubles pair and knocked off Allinson and Bernstein, 8-6. Hood has three matches on the slate this week, including a Sunday date with nationally ranked University of Mary Washington.

Matt Haynes bested his school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 134' 1" to finish fourth overall. Chris Digangi (above) vaulted 13' 6" to place second while William Andrews shaved nearly 30 seconds off his 10,000-meter record with a time of 35:27.94 for third place.
Justin Everett (19' 8 3/4") and Conor Prachar (18' 9 1/4") finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the long jump while David Andren was Hood's top finisher in the shot put with a toss of 33' 2 1/2", good for ninth of 20 competitors.
Hood travels to regional rival Goucher College Saturday.

Jessica Parrish won the 100-meter dash and lowered her school record to 12.72 Saturday at the Battleground Relays hosted by the University of Mary Washington. Erica Hamor extended her record in the javelin to 91' 8" and placed eighth. Emma Arneson bested teammate Katie Thomas' (above) mark in the 100-meter hurdles and placed fifth with a clocking of 17.92.
The 4x100 meter relay squad of Arneson, Thomas, Jessica Stanley and Parrish compiled a time of 51.90, besting the record time of 52.58 set last week, to place fourth. Hood's sprint medley team comprised of the same foursome took second in 1:57.79. Hood travels to regional rival Goucher College Saturday.
