Nov. 7 hosting Capital Athletic Conference Championships 11 a.m. (Heritage Farm Park, Walkersville, Md.)

Seniors Blair Ames (above), William Andrews and Brendan Greenlees will take their final laps around Heritage Farm Park this Saturday when the Blazers host their first-ever Capital Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships. The park is located in Walkersville, Maryland, about five miles off campus. All nine conference teams will be represented. Andrews and freshman Brett Shelley will vie for all-conference honors, awarded to the top 15 runners. The Capital Athletic Conference is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Freshman goalkeeper William Lane (above) matched his career-high with 14 saves against No. 5 York in the Blazers' season finale. The squad put up a valiant fight in its regular season finale against the Spartans, who have advanced to four straight NCAA tournaments. Despite being outshot 14-1 in the first period, the Blazers did not surrender a Spartan goal, becoming one of only nine opponents (three in the CAC) to make that claim this season. Hood's lone shot attempt of the contest came off the foot of Conor Prachar in the 28th minute. The Blazers allowed three Spartan goals, the fewest Hood has surrendered to York in five meetings, whichmatches the effort of the 2006 squad in the CAC tournament.

Women's Soccer (8-7-1, 2-6 CAC)

Sophomore Casey Miller (above) converted her third penalty kick of the fall Tuesday to account for the Blazers' lone goal against the University of Mary Washington. Miller was three-for-three this season on PK opportunities. The Blazer women narrowly missed a spot in the six-team Capital Athletic Conference tournament but did manage to post their fourth winning season in the past five years.

Freshman Brittany Tribett recorded her sixth double-double of the season Wednesday with 24 assists and 12 digs against York. The Blazers registered the most victories for the program since 2006. Senior Ashley Burns leaves Hood ranked 10th all-time in career kills with 224 while classmate Leah Garland (above) lists sixth on the career assists chart with 368.
