The Blazers tied for fifth place with Penn State Altoona in a field of 14 complete teams at its own open meet Saturday. Senior William Andrews was Hood's top finisher, completing the 8,000-meter course in 29:00.84 for 19th place. Freshman Brett Shelley followed close behind in 22nd with a clocking of 29:28.65. Senior Blair Ames ran No. 3 for Hood with a time of 30:48.31 while classmate Brendan Greenlees crossed the finish line in 30:56.82. Dave Gudeman Jr. (above), rounded out the Hood scorers in 31:16.18.

The Blazer women finished seventh of 13 complete teams in its own open meet Saturday, but only trailed fifth-place St. Mary's College (Md.) by two points. Senior Jessica Stanley was Hood's top finisher on the day, taking 28th in a time of 27:37.86. Sophomore Joanna LaBoue (above) logged a time of 28:25.36 for 40th while freshman Erica Burgess ran No. 3 in 29:07.33. Senior Emily Brownlee (29:49.41) and junior Sam Smith (30:46.20) completed the Hood scorers on the afternoon.

Sophomore Maria Smith pocketed her third goal of the season and fifth of her career Friday against Marywood University. Senior Lauren Perzan was credited with her fifth career assist on the score. Hood now owns a 1-2 record in overtime contests this fall. The Blazers have a busy week to close out the regular season with three games on the schedule. The coaching staff will recognize seniors Sarah Balukoff (above), Jen Graham, Brandy Noel and Lauren Perzan before Sunday's contest.

Senior Carlin Rabie (above) tallied his second goal of the season and sixth of his career Saturday at Salisbury University. Rabie's goal represented Hood's first in a Capital Athletic Conference contest this fall. Freshman Jaime Ramirez picked up his team-best third assist of the year and classmate William Lane posted double-figure saves for the second time in his Blazer career. The men's team continues its season-ending five-match road swing Tuesday at Stevenson University.

The Blazers look to put an end to their four-match losing skid Tuesday at Lancaster Bible College. Hood topped the Chargers 5-0 last season in the only previous meeting between the two schools. In Wednesday's match against Stevenson, junior Cara Jordan (above) got the Blazers on the board in the 58th minute for her team-leading eighth goal of the season. Her score was the first surrendered by the Mustangs in more than 360 minutes dating back to Sept. 26.

The Blazers swept Trinity University (D.C.) for the third time this season Saturday. The team also notched its fifth win of the fall over Randolph College, marking the most victories for the program since the 2006 campaign. Freshman Brittany Lethbridge racked up 11 kills and 22 digs on the week while classmate Brittany Tribett (above) set up 28 Hood kills.
