Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving
Campus Safety Officers form partnerships with residence halls, becoming valuable resources to the dorm residents.
Each residence hall and language house has a Campus Safety officer assigned, in the COPPS program (Campus Oriented Policing and Problem Solver). These officers will meet with the residents at least once a month to discuss problems, upcoming events and other topics. Campus Safety officers distribute pamphlets, posters and brochures on topics concerning crime prevention through awareness, bicycle safety, operation I-Dent and general security. Officers are available, by prior arrangements, to speak to students and staff groups and organizations.
