Cherian Thomas, MBA'12, is chairman and CEO of Spotluck, Inc. He took Spotluck from a Georgetown University master's deliverable to a monetized business. The Spotluck mobile platform provides real-time incentives to the best local restaurants in the community. Spotluck’s gamified user experience makes dining fun for users, and its proprietary software maximizes restaurant profits through exclusive smart discounts that change based on day, time, weather and other factors that affect restaurant occupancy.
In his leadership role at Spotluck, Thomas actively maintains stakeholder relations while raising awareness of the company’s brand and corporate social responsibility initiatives. He’s a sales-driven, people-first leader who inspires his team to be the CEO of their own positions.
Thomas has a passion for leading small teams willing to take on big-picture challenges. He actively advises several early-stage companies in areas specific to mobile apps, technology, fundraising, sales and consumer acquisition strategies.
Thomas graduated from Hood College with a Master of Business Administration in 2012 and continued his education by earning an Executive Master of Leadership from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in 2014. In 2013, he co-founded Georgetown's WASTENOT Initiative in Cape Town, South Africa—a Georgetown legacy project that links poverty-prone areas to local manufacturers through recycling buy-back centers.
