Program of study: Curriculum and Instruction, concentration in Special Education
Graduation year: 2010
Why did you choose to pursue a graduate degree?
To assist me in my job. To learn more about teaching my students.
Why did you choose Hood College Graduate School?
The quality of the undergraduate classes and faculty was outstanding.
How did your degree help you further your professional or personal life?
My degree assisted me in acquiring advanced knowledge to assist me in helping my students learn.
Who is your favorite faculty member and why?
Dr. Paul Dumford, who is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and relates theory and research to common practice in the classroom.
What would you share with prospective students about your graduate experience at Hood?
The classes were convenient to my schedule. The classes were small and the professors were very knowledgeable about their subject matter. I was able to focus projects on my current group of students. I could immediately put information and research I utilized in class projects into practice in my classroom. I still send and display the postcard I made for a project in my multicultural graduate class. The topics we discussed in class were current and addressed in my faculty and team meetings.
