Program of study: MBA Graduation year: 2009 Why did you choose to pursue a graduate degree? I decided to pursue a graduate degree for two reasons. First, I knew it would help me advance my career by setting me apart from my peers. Second, and most importantly, I did it to meet personal goals of academic success and gaining an understanding how the world works. Why did you choose Hood College Graduate School? I chose to attend Hood because of its convenient location and class times. I also liked the small classes and mix of full-time faculty and experienced instructors from industry. How did your degree help you further your professional or personal life? My degree has helped me better understand how the business world works and has led to more opportunities—not to mention a higher salary—with my current employer. Who is your favorite faculty member and why? Professor Anita Jose was my favorite faculty member. She had very high expectations for her students, which pushed them to perform better than they may have initially believed they could. Through her course, she was very supportive and available to guide each student, often staying quite late after class to help everyone individually.
What would you share with prospective students about your graduate experience at Hood? Take the time to get to know your instructors and let them get to know you. This is a big advantage of going to a small school with classroom-based programs. Also, get to know as many of your classmates as you can. The relationships you build will help you professionally and personally for the rest of your life. |
