Mobile technology has revolutionized our everyday lives, and we wanted to extend that revolution to the classroom. That’s why we’ve made iPads available to all our undergraduates and faculty with exciting results. History of Hood College iPad Program

Hood College was among the first in higher education to adopt iPads into its academic agenda. In fall 2010, we distributed iPads to first-year students and selected faculty, requesting that they explore its potential. By 2011, we were incorporating iPads into such programs as the First-Year Read, and feedback was so positive that in 2012, we decided to distribute them campus wide. Today, iPads are a common sight at Hood where, among other things, students may use them to complete interactive math assignments, earmark different screen shots in a video for a film class, or post photos for a science project while out in the field. The possibilities are endless as faculty and students continue to creatively explore the thousands of downloadable applications available for this device, making the iPad a game changer for Hood College.
