Important Dates

May and June 

  • First-year students

    1. Submit enrollment deposit to secure a place in the first-year class and residence halls (if the student wishes to reside on campus)

    2. Set up your Hood College email account.  You will receive a letter with instructions within a week of submitting your deposit  Please complete this set-up as all future email communication will be sent to this email address.

    3. Complete your first year registration questionnaire.  This questionnaire will be emailed to your Hood College email account, or can be accessed here.

    4. You will be contacted by CAAR after you complete the questionnaire and receive further instructions on taking your Hood College placement exams. We ask that you wait until you have been in contact with CAAR to take these exams. Learn more about placement exams here.

    5. You will be contacted by CAAR to discuss the results of your placement exams and arrange for an individualized advising appointment.

    6. Submit official transcripts of final grades.

    7. Request College Board send official score reports of any AP exams taken in high school to Hood.

    8. Attend Fall Orientation, held August 17. 

    9. Classes start Monday, August 21

    Transfer students

    3. You will be contacted by CAAR to discuss the next steps in being advised and registered for results of your advising appointment.

    4. If indicated on your official credit evaluation, please take the appropriate Hood College placement exams.  Learn more and sign up for your exams here.

    5. Send final transcripts to the registrar's office.

    6. Register for the Transfer Transition orientation program on Aug. 7 here.
     

June 15

  • Housing Accommodation Request Forms are due for residential students requiring a housing accommodation due to any of the following: medical, psychological, temporary disability factors, religious, cultural, ethnic, or gender-related reasons.

June 30

  • New Student Housing Form (within Self Service) is due for residential students

July 15

  • Health forms due
  • Initial Accounting Statements emailed

July 20

  • Housing and roommate assignments will be emailed to students who submitted their New Student Housing Forms by June 30.

July 24

  • AlcoholEdu and Have online courses are available within Self Service (you will receive an email with instructions regarding these programs). Due date: August 14.

August 1

  • General and accounting forms due: All applicable items in the orange “Important Tasks and Forms to Complete” section of this notebook

August 15

  • Fall semester tuition payment due to accounting

August 17

  • Fall Orientation

August 22

  • Opening convocation, 10 a.m.
  • Classes Begin, 1 p.m.

August 18

  • Finish reading first-year read book here
  • International Student Orientation Program
